Medical Office Lead Location: Clovis, CA Employer: Hire Up Staffing (on behalf of a well-established medical office) Position Summary
Hire Up Staffing is seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Office Lead to join a busy and reputable medical office located in Clovis, CA. This position is ideal for a Certified Medical Assistant who has demonstrated strong leadership in both front and back office settings, and who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
The Department Lead will supervise a team of clinical and administrative staff, as well as primary care providers, to ensure efficient workflows, quality patient care, and high-level customer service. This individual must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be capable of stepping into any role within the department when needed. Pay Range: $23.75 – $26.75 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: M-F 8AM-5PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the medical department, ensuring smooth workflows and timely patient care.
Serve as the primary point of contact between staff, providers, patients, and administration.
Manage and coordinate staff schedules, PTO requests, and provider time off to ensure proper coverage at all times.
Monitor and submit daily timesheets, reviewing for missed punches, breaks, or lunches.
Order and manage inventory of medical supplies, vaccines, and medications.
Oversee onboarding, scheduling, and training of new employees; verify completion of MA skill checklists.
Participate in physician incentive programs and track department-specific goals.
Conduct monthly staff meetings and annual performance evaluations.
Address and resolve patient complaints professionally and efficiently.
Maintain compliance with all health and safety protocols, including autoclave testing, temperature logs, and eye wash stations.
Participate in hiring interviews and candidate evaluations.
Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of all department roles, including front desk, referrals, phones, and MA duties.
Track and report departmental metrics, trends, and employee absences to administration.
Adhere to the company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and enforce standards consistently.
Required Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Required
BLS Certification – Required
High school diploma or equivalent – Required
Experience and Skills Required
5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with proven proficiency in both front and back office duties.
2+ years of experience in a supervisory role, managing a team of at least 7 or more staff.
Epic and NextGen EMR experience is a MUST – candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proven team-building and leadership abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Calm, solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution and problem-solving.
Ability to react calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
Competent in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and general administrative software.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required if all other qualifications are met.
