Bilingual Front & Back Office Medical Assistant
Location: Visalia, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $19–$21/hour during temporary period (pay increase available upon conversion to company payroll)

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a professional, dependable, and Bilingual Front & Back Office Medical Assistant for a full-time temp-to-hire opportunity with a local medical practice in Visalia, CA.

This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant who is comfortable supporting both front office administrative functions and back-office clinical duties. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient service, assist providers, maintain accurate medical records, and help ensure the office operates efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities Front Office Duties
  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Answer phones, assist patients with questions, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility as needed.
  • Collect and document required patient information.
  • Assist with referrals, authorizations, insurance documentation, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, insurance companies, and office staff.
Back Office Duties
  • Prepare patients for provider visits, examinations, and procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, vital signs, and other clinical information.
  • Assist providers with examinations and routine clinical workflows.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain appropriate clinical supplies.
  • Support patient care before, during, and after provider visits.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Follow office procedures and applicable safety and infection-control standards.
General Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with additional front and back-office responsibilities as needed.
  • Remain flexible and productive when daily priorities or patient volume change.
  • Work collaboratively with a small, team-oriented staff.
  • Maintain professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Experience working in both front and back office medical settings preferred.
  • Ophthalmology experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with referrals, authorizations, insurance verification, and medical documentation preferred.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependable attendance and a consistent work history.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Ability to communicate compassionately and professionally with a diverse patient population.
About the Practice
  • Small, team-oriented medical office with approximately 6 employees.
  • Provider sees approximately 40–45 patients per day.
  • Team members are expected to be flexible, proactive, and willing to assist with both front and back-office responsibilities.
  • Thursdays require additional administrative support while the provider is out of the office.
